Franklin is a town in Norfolk county with a large population of 33,000 along with a rich history. It’s home to the country’s first library with books donated by Benjamin Franklin, who the town is named after. Along with the large community comes the largest catholic parish in Boston, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with over 15,000 members.

Franklin has played a role in the history of the American education system since its founding in 1778. It was  the birthplace of America’s father of Education, Horace Mann. It also has the oldest continually operational one room school house, the Red Brick School, which began in 1792. It also is home to higher education with Dean College, founded in 1865. With a town full of families and students, it has the Franklin State Forest and the Franklin Town Forest which provide hours of natural exploration and fun for all ages. It’s also conveniently located near Route 495 and has commuter rail access to Boston if you want to escape to the city as well.
